How to Install IPTV on Firestick

February 23, 20268 min read

Getting an IPTV player onto a Firestick takes only a few minutes once you know which route to take. There are two install methods depending on which app you want: a direct download from the Amazon Appstore, or sideloading with the free Downloader app for players that aren't listed there. Both end with the same result — a player app ready for your IPTVON login.

This walkthrough covers both methods step by step. If you're still deciding which player to install, our overview of the best IPTV apps for Firestick can help you pick before you start.

Method 1: Installing From the Amazon Appstore

  • From the Firestick home screen, move to the top menu and select the search (magnifying glass) icon
  • Type the name of your chosen app, such as IPTV Smarters Pro or IBO Player Pro
  • Select the app from the results and choose Download or Get
  • Once installed, select Open, or find the app under Your Apps & Channels on the home screen

Method 2: Sideloading With Downloader

Some popular players, including TiviMate, aren't distributed through the Amazon Appstore and need to be sideloaded instead. This is a standard, supported way to add apps to Fire OS — it just requires one extra setting change.

  • Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options
  • Turn on Apps from Unknown Sources and confirm the warning prompt
  • Search for and install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore
  • Open Downloader, enter the app's official APK download URL, and select Go
  • Once the file finishes downloading, select Install, then Open

Logging Into IPTVON After Installation

Once your player app is installed, the last step is connecting it to your IPTVON subscription. Open the app, choose the option for adding a user profile — usually labeled Add User, Login or Xtream Codes API — and enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome message. If you were sent an M3U link instead, look for an Add Playlist or M3U URL option. Our guide to adding Xtream Codes covers this step in more detail if your app's menu looks different from what's described here.

Troubleshooting a Failed Install

  • App won't download from the Appstore: check that the Firestick has enough free storage and is signed into an Amazon account
  • Downloader can't find the file: confirm the APK URL was typed correctly, since Downloader can't autocomplete web addresses
  • Install button is greyed out: restart the Firestick and try again, since a stuck background download can block new installs
  • App installs but won't open: uninstall, restart the device, and reinstall rather than trying to repair it

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, sideloading through Downloader is a standard Fire OS feature, not a hack. Stick to official APK sources for the player itself and you're only changing how the app is installed, not what it does.
